Article Processing Charges (APC)

Insights in Animal Science is published as a fully open-access journal. Accepted articles are made freely available online with no subscription barriers. To support editorial management, peer review, copyediting, typesetting, digital archiving, and platform services, an Article Processing Charge (APC) is payable upon acceptance of the manuscript.

There are no submission charges, no page charges, and no color figure charges.

Waivers & Discount Options

The journal offers a structured waiver and discount mechanism in recognition of reviewer contributions, returning authors, and invited submissions.

📢 Promotional APC Waiver (Valid through 31 December 2026)

To support authors and strengthen manuscript submissions, the journal is currently offering a full APC waiver for all manuscripts submitted on or before 31 December 2026, subject to successful peer review and acceptance.

The standard APC and discount policies will apply to manuscripts submitted on or after 1 January 2027.

1. Returning Authors Discount

Authors who have published in Insights in Animal Science within the past 24 months are eligible for a 30% APC discount on their next accepted article.

Eligibility applies to the corresponding author, first author, or senior (last) author of the previously published article.

2. Reviewer Recognition Discount

To acknowledge peer review contributions:

• A 20% APC discount is awarded for each completed review that meets editorial quality standards.
• Discounts are valid for 24 months from the date of review completion.
• Applicable to the corresponding author.

3. Invited & Special Issue Articles

The Editorial Office may grant discounts up to 100% for invited submissions and special issues at its discretion.

4. Discount Combination Rules

• Total discounts are capped at 50%, unless the manuscript is invited or part of a special issue.
• Discounts apply only to accepted manuscripts.
• Discounts cannot be transferred to other authors or manuscripts.
